6.30 pm for 7 pm

How to view colour in buildings, ancient and modern

Edward has spent the last 30 years working in some of Britain’s finest buildings. He is a leading interior designer, architectural historian and ‘colourman’, renowned for restoring our heritage buildings, bringing his expert knowledge to conservation and his design flair to the creation of new spaces for modern living.

In his talk Edward will explore why we use colour, and how to choose paint. Should we use fashionable colours in our new loft conversion, or should we ‘put it back to the original’ if we are doing an old house?

Which is more important - that paint is ‘scrubbable’ or ‘breathable’?

Edward will canter through the history of paint and colour from the the Palaeolithic age to the Acrylic age!

He will discuss practical approaches to choosing colour, and what type of paint is best suited to you.

There will be a chance for questions and answers over a glass of wine or two.
