Wednesday 13th February 2019 - Study Day at Syon House with Diana Lloyd

One of the capital’s hidden treasures, Syon House is the London home of the Duke of Northumberland and has been in the Percy family for more than 400 years.

Historic Decoration is hosting Historic Houses for a special day at Syon. We would also like to invite our followers to attend. Tickets are £80 and can be bought direct from Historic House at the link below.

Learn about the decoration of walls and floors from 1550 to 1900 with Diana Lloyd, lecturer at Christies Education, the Inchbald School of Design and the Interior Design School. Diana will explain how they have influenced today’s designers and decorators, which will be of special interest to those restoring or redecorating a period property.

Lunch will be served in the garden restaurant, giving visitors an opportunity to see the Great Conservatory, followed by a tour of Syon House led by leading interior designer Lady Caroline Percy and architectural historian Oliver Gerrish. Be inspired by Robert Adam’s striking interiors, including the great hall based on a Roman basilica, and visit the richly decorated suite of rooms used by the young Princess Victoria.

Includes coffee and biscuits on arrival, and one-course hot lunch with soft drinks and coffee.
