Tuesday 23rd November - Syon House and the Downton Jewels

£130.00

Historic Decoration and Fellows invite you for a day of stately bejewelled pleasure at Syon House, the palatial London ancestral home of the Dukes of Northumberland. We will be joined by jeweller Andrew Prince, who created much of the magnificent jewellery seen in Downton Abbey. He will be giving a talk entitled ‘Royal Jewels, the American heiress and the Downton Jewels’. We will have a light lunch followed by a tour of the house with Lady Caroline Percy (who grew up at Syon House as the eldest daughter of the 10th Duke of Northumberland) and architectural historian Oliver Gerrish. The crowning part of the day will be tea in the private drawing room and a viewing (and trying on!) of the Downton jewels.
