HISTORIC DECORATION CONSULTANCY SERVICE
Historic Decoration offers advice and assistance on the restoration and reinterpretation of historic interiors for interior designers, architects and owners of period houses.
It can be a time-consuming task to find the correct fabric for a Jacobean drawing room, suitable handles for Georgian doors or locate an expert who can sympathetically restore a family heirloom.
We source antiques and works of art across the historical spectrum from antiquity to contemporary and to suit all budgets. The prices of antique furniture today are lower than most modern furniture found on the high street. There is also the eco sustainability issue. Why buy mass produced painted mdf furniture, shipped from the far east, when there are wonderful antique pieces stored in warehouses around the country?
The antiques market has changed since its peak of popularity in the 1990’s in that most of the small shops that used to be found in towns around the UK have closed down and furniture tends to be stored in large warehouses to be sold online. This means that it can be a complicated and lengthy process to locate the exact piece to suit your interior design scheme. We would be happy to help!
We have sourced antiques and works of art for a large number of satisfied clients worldwide over 30 years and have built up a wide range of contacts in the trade antique field, which allows us to find the right piece at the right price.
We work with a wide range of highly skilled craftsmen including talented muralists.
