Due to the current situation, we will be postponing the course until the new year

Our four-day course provides a foundation for the analysis and interpretation of British interior design from the Renaissance to the Regency.  Chronologically organised, the visits to historic buildings will highlight key interiors, architects, designers and movements that show how the English home has evolved over the centuries from the reigns of Henry VIII to George IV.  The tours will be accompanied by in-house experts.  We will explore the decorative devices employed by great designers and architects from the past and discuss their relevance to interior design in the 21st century.

The interior designer, Caroline Percy, and architectural historian, Oliver Gerrish, will lead the course, assisted by Catherine Fellowes.  We are based at Hotspur House, Caroline's home, next door to Robert Adam's Syon Park.

Fee £1,150.00 (includes lunch and refreshments).  Transport will be available to collect and drop off from Boston Manor Station (Piccadilly Line) and travel to the historic houses. Parking is available in Syon Park. The number of attendees will be limited to up to eight to facilitate social distancing.

Day 2 - Jacobean / Carolean and Palladian
